RF over Fibre (RoF) transports radio-frequency signals over optical fibre with very low loss. Analog or digital opto-converters (Tx/Rx) modulate the RF onto light, enabling long distances, galvanic isolation, and excellent immunity to electromagnetic interference.

Typical systems provide wide frequency coverage (from VHF/UHF to microwave/mmWave), low amplitude/phase errors (SFDR, noise figure, group delay), plus options such as DWDM, remote powering, redundancy, and SNMP monitoring. Applications include distributed antenna systems (DAS), satcom/teleport interconnects, 5G/backhaul, EMC test ranges, and laboratory setups.
