NEXIO has introduced a new eCall monitoring module within its BAT-EMC software platform. This innovative feature enables the automation of EMC immunity tests for eCall systems by integrating hardware setups with communication monitoring to detect malfunctions and transmission errors in real time.
What is eCall?
Since March 31, 2018, all vehicles sold in the European Union must be equipped with the eCall emergency system. When a crash occurs, vehicle sensors automatically trigger an emergency call to the nearest Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). The system not only establishes a voice connection but also transmits a Minimum Set of Data (MSD) including the vehicle’s location obtained via GNSS. This allows rescue services to respond quickly, even if the occupants are unable to communicate.
How BAT-EMC simplifies eCall testing
The BAT-EMC eCall application integrates the communication monitoring of eCall systems directly into the EMC test process. It synchronizes the test bench hardware with the ongoing communication, automatically detecting interruptions or performance degradation under electromagnetic stress.
Key Features
- Compatible with 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G networks and with NGeCall and ERA-Glonass variants
- Automatic synchronization between EMC test hardware and eCall communication
- Real-time fault detection and reporting during testing
- Supports all major EMC test systems
- Flexible architecture for communication and development applications
