The GTEM EMC 1000 INOX is a GTEM cell for electromagnetic compatibility measurements over a frequency range from 100 kHz to 20 GHz. As a Giga-hertz Transversal Electro-Magnetic cell, it generates a TEM field inside the usable test volume and provides a compact alternative to larger test facilities for radiated emission and immunity measurements.

The cell is intended for EMI, EMS, radiation, susceptibility and receiver sensitivity tests. With a maximum input power of 1000 W, a nominal impedance of 50 Ω and a typical VSWR of 1:1.2, the GTEM EMC 1000 INOX is suitable for demanding EMC test setups in laboratory, R&D and qualification environments.

Advantages

  • Broadband operation up to 20 GHz for EMC, EMI and EMS test applications.
  • High input power up to 1000 W for immunity test setups using RF power amplifiers.
  • Compact GTEM architecture as an alternative to larger facilities for radiated emission and immunity measurements.
  • Rugged INOX construction for industrial laboratory and test environments.
  • Configurable technical panels for RF, data, power and fiber optic feed thrus.
  • Integrated power line filters to suppress conducted disturbances through the power supply line.
  • EMCO supports technical users in selecting, configuring and integrating EMC, RF and immunity test solutions.

Additional information

The GTEM EMC 1000 INOX is built as a TEM waveguide with its upper frequency limit extended into the GHz range. Inside the usable test volume, the electromagnetic field distribution operates in TEM mode, with electric and magnetic field components perpendicular to the direction of propagation.

The technical panel provides shielded access to the internal test volume without contaminating the internal field. The panels are fully configurable to match specific input/output requirements, and two additional empty technical panels are available for future expansion.

The power filter section suppresses disturbances coming from the power supply line and also prevents disturbances generated by the DUT from returning to the mains line. Custom power line filters are available for specific requirements.

The shielded door uses two rows of metal mesh gaskets. When the door is closed, the gasket is mechanically compressed to prevent contamination of the internal field. The door can include a shielded window made of polycarbonate glass incorporating a fine meshed metal foil.

The area opposite the tip of the GTEM cell is fitted with pyramidal RF absorbers. This graphite-loaded absorber material is designed to absorb the RF field and is built from replaceable 3x3 tiled pyramid panels.

Because of its size and weight, the GTEM EMC 1000 is shipped disassembled in shock-resistant packaging and assembled on-site by professional personnel.
