The formation of ice and snowfall, especially on parabolic antennas, is a major cause in loss of signal transmittal and reception during winter months or for dishes at high altitude locations.
Surface Heating Systems Ltd (SHS) develops antenna de-ice systems to prevent ice and snow accumulation on satellite antennas. There are already existing designs for the most common antenna models. Otherwise, a new design can be created without any problems. The heating system is generally available for the full or half reflector and also includes a feed heater. A corresponding control with an optional SNMP interface is also included in the scope of delivery.
Advantages over hot air systems:
- Lower energy costs
- Shorter assembly times
- No moving parts mean longer operational life
